BIOGRAPHY – EMMA AGERWALD

Actress, Director, Writer & Singer Emma Agerwald grew up in Stockholm and London. She graduated the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. She has trained for many years with leading method-acting teacher in London, Sam Rumbelow and NYC Actor’s Studio’s board member Elizabeth Kemp. Emma also studied Creative Writing at Luleå Tek, and Film & Fashion at The Swedish Film Institute, and Classic & Contemporary Dance at Stockholm Ballet Academy and various studios in Europe and the US.

Emma has acted in several films and plays including: Strange Things Happen – screened at Paramount Studios, shown at Cannes, Interfilm Berlin, winner of Fesancor 2011 Santiago and many more, by directors: Martin Toro & Alex Khudokon; Charcoal –directed by: Augustin Doublet; Spit –written, directed and starring Emma, alongside co-star Miro Caltagirone; Birds of Paradise by Writer/Director David Formentin; My Tears Away – Independent short film by Seungmin Jungho Park; Cannes / Trial of Four – Cannes short film corner, by Max Sobol; Kall andedräkt på livets fönster – Vårrullen Film festival, Stockholm. Director Gabriel Bremler. Played Marianna in feature film Measure for Measure by Bob Komar. Lorca Noir Despair; feature film by director Malga Kubiak. In addition to theatrical roles in: Love, Lightning – at the Kraine NYC. Dir. Marie-José Malis; Pirandello’s ‘I’m Dreaming, But Am I – & Man With The Flower in His Mouth- & Trouble – M. Monroe Theater, NYC. Director. Michael Luggio, and short film ‘Kiss Kiss Fingerbang’ alongside Buck Henry and Anton Yelchin, Directed by Gillian Wallace Horvat. Emma was the director of “The Better Part of Forever” & “Searching for Taylor Swift” both at the Fountain Theatre in LA.

As a writer Emma has written plays performed on stages in Stockholm and New York; screenplays; as well as several short stories published in the literary magazine Bonne Nouvelle. Emma recently published her collection of poetry “Aeon Emmanuelle”. Most recently Emma was part of Olya Dubatova’s piece Byzanthium 2.0 alongside Paz Lenchantin. She is the CEO & founder of European production company Moon Feather Films – first feature is shooting spring 2018. Emma just recently performed in the piece “Cultus Septem the Ancient Rites of the Lightning Path” at Mimoda Studios; August 18 & 19. She is currently in preparation for two feature films. Emma is the singer of post-punk band RATIONALS.
