About The Chef:

I am a Catalan chef. For us, food is really important. It’s the moment when you get together with the people you love after a busy day. Every time people meet up, there is always food involved (and some drinks like beer lol). I grew up in a household where my family was always making time to meet during the weekend with my extended family to have dinner together and spend the day with them. Our food is really tasty, we don’t rush the cooking time, we love to slow cook all of our meals to get the most flavor. Every time we cook, we do it from our heart.

The dishes that we are going to have on this special dinner, are really traditional. In Barcelona we all grew up eating a Spanish omelette filled with potatoes for dinner and eating paella on Sunday’s when we could all be together. The montaditos are something that you usually eat when we go out, at a bar, you order a drink and one of these comes with it.

A note from the Chef

“The first time I saw a sample of Laurie’s art, I immediately thought about the modernist architect Gaudí, a catalán architect with an individualized one-of-a-kind style. Why? The way that Laurie put together all the structures, creates different patterns, it reminds me of some of Gaudi’s works. He used to say that there is no better structure than the human body or trees to create art and that’s what Laurie did when she created the Alchemy Tunnel. It reminds me of a wood full of trees and colors. Gaudí used different styles on his art pieces, he observed for a while different styles around the world from Indian to Moroccan architecture and that’s where he got his inspiration from. The colorful tunnel has tones of this cultural mix.”
