SUMMARY:Gold Rush: New Paintings in Gold by Peter Mars
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand\, Radiant Space is thrilled to present “Gold Rush”\, a solo exhibition of new and classic works by iconic Chicago Pop Artist Peter Mars. \nOpen to the public every Saturday 12-3pm\n& by appointment any day of the week \nContact info@radiantspacela.com to book private viewing appointments. \nComplimentary mimosas will be served during open hours and appointments. Admission is free! \nSimilar to Picasso experimenting with a blue period\, Mars has entered a golden phase\, creating beautiful new works all in gold. \nA portion of the proceeds will be donated to Los Angeles Cal Fund Toy Drive\, keeping with the spirit of the holidays and the sentiment that everyone deserves to strike gold. Performances\, talks\, and special events will ensue throughout the exhibition dates. \nABOUT PETER MARS \nGrowing up in Portland\, Oregon\, Mars was always fascinated by the rich history of the American West. The hidden treasures found in the land that brought so many brave pioneers on a quest to start a new life mesmerized him. To many\, Los Angeles still fills the youth with a sense of promise and hope to achieve their dreams in tinsel town. Mars plays with historical figures such as James Dean\, the Lone Ranger\, Buffalo Bill\, and Annie Oakley that were imbedded in his childhood vision of America. \nUsing the joy and nostalgia found in everyday objects\, Peter Mars explores popular culture\, the passage of time\, and the icons that each period adopts as its own. His works form a running commentary on global popular culture. Playing with cultural images we know and love\, Mars then reimagines them\, creating aesthetically pleasing pieces of art. His iconic works have hung alongside Banksy\, Warhol\, Haring\, Basquiat and others. \n“Gold Rush” will be on view from December 1st\, 2018 through January 19th\, 2019. \nRADIANT SPACE\n1444 N. Sierra Bonita Ave.\nLos Angeles\, CA 90046

SUMMARY:Gyrokineses Masterclass with Kindall
DESCRIPTION:Come and try the Gyrokinesis Method with Guest Teacher Kindall. This class will specifically focus on how and why we need to move the body in order to find flow in our movement practice in order to heal the body. ✨ \nAbout Kindall\nKindall received the bulk of her Dance\, Gyrotonic\, and Gyrokinesis training at LINES Ballet BFA back from 2006-2010. After becoming a Certified Trainer\, she then got her Masters at London Contemporary Dance School and a PG Diploma in Dance Science at Trinity Laban Conservatory. Kindall is now based in Lisbon\, Portugal and currently teaches at Master Trainer Bernardo Gama’s studio\, Equilibrium. \nAbout the Gyrokinesis Method\nGyrokinesis was created by professional dancer\, Juliu Horvath\, to combat serious injuries. After studying and mastering different yoga\, somatic\, and movement techniques\, Horvath was able to create a series of his own movement sequences that involved continuous\, spiralling movements that decompresses the joints and increases all ranges of movement. \n$10 \nPlease RSVP in advance as spaces are limited 🙂\nkindall@themovementblog.co.uk \nPlease bring a yoga mat. \nThe workshop will take place inside of Peter Mars’ newest exhibit “Gold Rush.”

SUMMARY:WOM - Feminist Live Action Play
DESCRIPTION:WOM is simply put the word woman without man. Our job is to makethat definition more complicated. \nFeminist performance art/ comedy show/ revolution\, WOM is a Wet The Hippo production in collaboration with visual artist Allison Honeycutt \, directed by John Gilkey. A 1 hr long comedic\, music and movement manifesto with a mountain top from which to yell “I HAVE NO APOLOGIES” and a phone booth from which to say “I am so deeply sorry.” Whether they succeed in defining WOM is up to the interpretation of the viewer and honestly not even their biggest problem. WOM has had 2 sold out LA runs and are fresh off their residency at Celebration Barn this August. They are thrilled to play within Darren’s dreamscape at Radiant Space. \nWOM is: \nGrace Lusk\, comedian \nClaire Woolner\, misunderstood poet (performing on video for this night) \nLucia Brizzi\, should’ve been ballerina \nMeera Kumbhani\, extraterrestrial genius \nTeaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XC7EfOxmes \n“…a multi-layered\, outrageous\, quite stunning feminist comedy show in an art space…. They were dancing around while kneeding bread dough on an ironing board that then became a base guitar\, wearing wildly stuffed vs. understuffed bras over bodysuits\, throwing around babies made of stuffed mittens\,—getting in and out of an old fashioned phone booth made of felt where they called in suspect apologies to people in the past\, all with the edge of young female aggression\, periodically climbing up a mountain of girl stuff to deliver monologues of things that were essentially true and important to them and very\, very funny.”–Brigid Moynahan\, www.the-next-level.com \nDoors at 7:45pm\, show promptly at 8:00pm. \nradiantspacela.com\nhttps://www.wingspeak.com/\nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1940229916222486/ \n1444 N Sierra Bonita Ave\nLos Angeles\, Ca 90046\noff of Sunset \nPaid parking lot off of gardner. SUMMARY:Infinity Pod Visiting Hours – $5 Entrance
DESCRIPTION:Darren Sarkin brings his Forest fire light Sculptures and Infinity Pod to Radiant Space as an immersive installation with live music performances. This show is the culmination of four years of work as an ode to the beauty and fragility of Los Angeles. The pod contains our bubbling life of limitless opportunity in the city\, while the outside gallery space is filled with the destruction of our environment and homes on the fringes. These burnt logs and pieces of homes have been brought back to life with crystal and light\, showing how if we turn our attentions outward we can keep our world bright for generations to come. \nThe Infinity Pod is a dodecagon of 12 mirrors\, lined with programmed lights. This intimate and expansive light show spirals out in endless fractals as a two minute ride through the stars\, perfect for individuals and couples. The pod is equipped to capture an image of each of the participants while they are inside. For a nominal price of $5 guests can enter the pod and installation on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-3pm\, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Los Angeles County Fire Department Wildland Firefighters.
