DESCRIPTION:Double Date\nA four person group show at Radiant Space opens February 23rd 7:00-10:00 pm and runs through March 30th 2019. Featuring paintings by Makan Negahban\, Alic Daniel\, mixed media pieces by Megan Jorgenson\, and assemblage by Ilaria de Plano. Four artists explore varying themes both abstract and realistic while building related worlds with texture\, color\, shape\, form and recycled materials. \nConcurrently with Double Date\, Ilaria de Plano and Alic Daniel are exhibiting complementary work in our new brother location\, the Arcspace. Arcspace is a mid modern prefab home designed to be a solution to the housing crisis in California. He has broad experience in future-facing content creation and moderating cross-disciplinary technology panels. He speaks and co-produces cultural\, environmental\, and futurism content for various domestic and international summits and festivals including events at the United Nations\, United States Institute of Peace\, Lightning in a Bottle\, Wonderfruit Festival\, and more. His research has taken him from the Tropics to Antarctica with positions at various international institutions including the J. In 2007\, Michel moved to New York producing work for clients such as Macy*s\, TGIFriday’s\, Aflac\, HP & Microsoft\, and worked with agencies such as Publicis\, Havas\, Dentsu\, DDB\, and Deutsch. In 2012 he relocated to Tokyo working as a technology strategist/consultant offering his expertise to both Fortune 500 companies and local tech-startups in Japan. Some of the more notable companies Michel has worked with in Tokyo are Google\, Tinder\, Bottega Veneta\, and John Varvatos. In 2014 Michel created an art application that uses computer-vision (image recognition) to identify artworks using your phone’s camera in museums\, art fairs and galleries; essentially a “Shazam or Art.” Michel began to explore other disruptive technologies beyond IR/AR such as blockchain and ML. Part of his day-to-day consists of co-operating a 50 person data company which has the largest blockchain database in the world. Michel has worked as an advisory consultant for dozens of blockchain companies providing guidance regarding product development\, growth & marketing\, and technology implementation. Michel also runs a small B2B marketing and social media agency where each team member has over 20 years of experience in digital advertising & business growth. DESCRIPTION:Come and try the Gyrokinesis Method with Guest Teacher Kindall. This class will specifically focus on how and why we need to move the body in order to find flow in our movement practice in order to heal the body. ✨ \nAbout Kindall\nKindall received the bulk of her Dance\, Gyrotonic\, and Gyrokinesis training at LINES Ballet BFA back from 2006-2010. After becoming a Certified Trainer\, she then got her Masters at London Contemporary Dance School and a PG Diploma in Dance Science at Trinity Laban Conservatory. Kindall is now based in Lisbon\, Portugal and currently teaches at Master Trainer Bernardo Gama’s studio\, Equilibrium. \nAbout the Gyrokinesis Method\nGyrokinesis was created by professional dancer\, Juliu Horvath\, to combat serious injuries. DESCRIPTION:Back by Popular Demand\, Radiant Space is thrilled to present “Gold Rush”\, a solo exhibition of new and classic works by iconic Chicago pop artist Peter Mars. “Gold Rush” will be on view from December 1st\, 2018 through January 19th\, 2019.  \nGrowing up in Portland\, Oregon\, Mars was always fascinated by the rich history of the American West. He was mesmerized by the hidden treasures found in the land that brought so many brave pioneers on a quest to start a new life. To many\, Los Angeles still fills the youth with a sense of promise and hope to achieve their dreams in tinsel town. Mars plays with historical figures such as James Dean\, the Lone Ranger\, Buffalo Bill\, and Annie Oakley that were imbedded in his childhood vision of America.  \nUsing the joy and nostalgia found in everyday objects\, Peter Mars explores popular culture\, the passage of time\, and the icons that each period adopts as its own. His works form a running commentary on global popular culture. Playing with cultural images we know and love\, Mars then reimagines them\, creating aesthetically pleasing pieces of art. His iconic works have hung alongside Banksy\, Warhol\, Haring\, Basquiat and others.  \nA portion of the proceeds will be donated to Los Angeles Cal Fund Toy Drive\, keeping with the spirit of the holidays and the sentiment that everyone deserves to strike gold.
